800 doanh nghiệp Việt chia "miếng bánh" nhỏ logistics

(VNR500) - Việt Nam hiện có trên 800 doanh nghiệp Logistics đang hoạt động nhưng chủ yếu là các doanh nghiệp vừa và nhỏ nên việc tổ chức kinh doanh thể hiện sự manh mún, chưa chuyên nghiệp.

Hội thảo về thực thi lộ trình hội nhập ngành dịch vụ logistics trong ASEAN được tổ chức hôm qua (22/8) do Bộ Công Thương phối hợp với Viện Nghiên cứu Kinh tế ASEAN và Đông Á nằm trong khuôn khổ Hội nghị Bộ trưởng Kinh tế ASEAN lần thứ 42.

Qua hơn 2 năm các quốc gia ASEAN thực hiện lộ trình Hội nhập ngành logistics, Thứ trưởng Bộ Công Thương Nguyễn Cẩm Tú cho biết: “Mục tiêu của lộ trình này là đẩy nhanh việc tự do hóa và thuận lợi hóa các phân ngành dịch vụ logistics với thời hạn là năm 2013 và trong dài hạn biến ASEAN trở thành trung tâm Logistics trong khu vực Châu Á - Thái Bình Dương”.

Còn theo ông Lê Quang Lân, Phó Vụ trưởng Vụ Đa biên thì hiện nay các nước ASEAN đã rất coi trọng tăng cường hội nhập ngành logistics trong khu vực, “coi đây là mắt xích quan trọng và là “chất keo” kết dính để khâu nối các công đoạn sản xuất và vận chuyển giữa các nước”.

Ông Lân khẳng định: “Với tư cách là nước điều phối trong ASEAN, Việt Nam đã nỗ lực hết sức mình để cùng với các thành viên ASEAN hoàn thành đầy đủ Lộ trình ưu tiên hội nhập lĩnh vực logistics”.

Đến thời điểm hiện nay, dịch vụ logistics ở Việt Nam chiếm từ 15-20% GDP, tức là trên dưới 12 tỷ USD.

Nếu chỉ tính riêng khâu quan trọng nhất trong logistics là vận tải, chiếm từ 40-60% chi phí thì cũng đã là một thị trường dịch vụ khổng lồ.

Maersk Line adds direct South Vietnam call

Charlotte, North Carolina - Maersk Line announces it will adjust its Trans-Pacific 6 service (TP6) to add a direct, all water call from South Vietnam to the US West Coast. With the direct TP6 call, Maersk Line becomes the first carrier to introduce the “Post-Panamax” class (9000 TEU vessels) to Vietnam. The first sailing will be on the Mathilde Maersk on Wednesday, May 12, 2010.  The new service will call at the SP-PSA International Terminal in Vung Tau, Vietnam, a deepwater facility that accommodates larger vessels located 80 km south of Ho Chi Minh City near the mouth of the Cai Mep-Thi Vai River. This direct service will have a Sunday arrival into the APM Terminals facility, Los Angeles, California delivering the cargo in just 18 days.  Cargo availability will be on Tuesday.  The westbound port rotations will remain unchanged; exports will depart Los Angeles on Thursdays.

“Our customers have requested this direct call and the time is right to include a direct service from Vietnam in our network,” said Bill Woodhour, North America Sales Manager for Maersk Line. “This call will complement our other Trans-pacific products, giving our customers comprehensive coverage with unmatched service reliability.”

The General Director of Maersk Line in Vietnam, Peter Smidt-Nielsen, shares the excitement in Vietnam about this new service, “It gives us great pleasure to be able to meet our customers' demand for a direct call to the US West Coast. We have worked hard to meet this demand and make it feasible to call Vung Tau with the largest vessels ever to call a Vietnamese port, and are thrilled to introduce such a competitive and reliable product to this exciting and growing market.”

Maersk Line’s TP6 service, which will slow steam beginning with the same sailing, will continue to offer a competitive product covering the Far East and US West Coast.  With a deployment of fourteen vessels, ports of call eastbound include Tanjung Pelepas, Malaysia; Vung Tau, Vietnam; Yantian, China; Hong Kong, China and Los Angeles, California. The westbound rotation will be Los Angeles, California; Yokohama, Japan; Nagoya, Japan; Shanghai, China; Ningbo, China; Xiamen, China; Hong Kong, China; Yantian, China, and Tanjung Pelepas, Malaysia. South Vietnam will be serviced via transshipment at Hong Kong by feeder service on the westbound rotation.  Vietnam service to and from the US East Coast will remain unchanged on the TP3 & TP7 service.

‘Mathilde Maersk’ makes history as largest vessel ever to call Vietnam

Ho Chi Minh City – Today Vietnam witnessed the largest ship ever to call at her shores. The ‘Mathilde Maersk’ made its inaugural call as part of Maersk Line’s new direct service between South Vietnam and the US West Coast on its Trans-Pacific 6 string (TP6).

‘Mathilde Maersk’ measures 367 metres long and can carry about 9,000 TEUs (twenty foot equivalent unit). Together with 13 sister ships, this post-Panamax class vessel will call at the SP-PSA International Port in Vung Tau, a deepwater facility located 80 km south of Ho Chi Minh City near the mouth of the Cai Mep-Thi Vai River as part of the direct call.

The direct TP6 weekly service will have a Wednesday sailing from Vung Tau, providing an optimal Monday evening cargo closing for exporters, and a Sunday arrival into Los Angeles, California, USA with a transit time of just 18 days.
